Chao-Tsai Chiu
Chao-Tsai Chiu was born in 1977 in Miaoli, Taiwan. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from Taipei National University of the Arts (2004). Chiu's work focuses on interactive mechanisms, through the audience’s participation, his artwork structure deviates from its usual rigid form and becomes dynamic and reciprocal. His solo shows include The Counterattack of Fatigue (2012), The World of Fatigue (2009), The Object Park of Gravity (2004). His work has been included in international group exhibitions, such as THAITAI: A Measure of Understanding (Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Bangkok, 2012), Republic without People (Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Kaohsiung, 2011), Memories and Beyond – Kuandu Biennale (Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei, 2010), Living with Art – Contemporary Art from Japan and Taiwan (Yi&C, Taipei, 2010), Dream in a Contemporary Secret Garden (Chelsea Art Museum, New York, 2009).
