Midi Scrapyard Challenge
Midi Scrapyard Challenge
MIDI Scrapyard Challenge is an intensive workshop where participants build simple analog and digital electronic MIDI music controllers out of discarded 'junk'such as old electronics, furniture, and outdated computer equipment. Participants also build simple drawing robots, or DrawBots' with motors and drawing markers that can be connected to the MIDI interface. At the end of the day, workshop participants will hold a small performance/concert on the salon stage. No electronics skills or experience with technology is necessary for the workshop. Jonah Brucker-Cohen (us) works as a Research Fellow at Media Lab Europe in Dublin. His focus is on subverting existing relationships to human-network interfaces by redefining how information isusedand disseminated. www.coin-operated.com
