Alexander Nikolic, studies at the Academy of Fine Art Vienna. His main areas of work and research have been within the contexts of art and activism. He has done international research projects on various topics, such as: the intersections of popular culture and fine art, strategies of appropriation, interventions and subversion in the field of mass media/mainstream culture, participatory practice and the production of Public Space. His work which ranges from sculpture, photography, documentary film and performance has been exhibited in various international exhibitions and festivals. Recently his practice also includes curating, yet with a focus that is more about collaborative practice between artists and activists rather than curating in the institutional sense.
