The culture of the night club and the experimental electronic music is currently creating a whole wave of abstract video work in which music and image are connected to one another through com­positions which are partly strict and precise, and partly open. Some of these works appear as audio­ visual and time-based abstract painting, whilst others place the digital technological structure of image and sound at the forefront. A far cry from the cruder techno aesthetic, these works reveal that the club today has become an independent space for digital art.
