The transmediale awards, worth 2500 Euros each, are presented in three categories: Image, Software Art, and Interaction. Three international juries narrowed down the field from over 1100 individual works from 48 countries to the current nominees and honourable mentions. This year, the transmediale is also pleased to present the Werkleitz Award for an outstanding media artwork critically exploring social processes. On Tuesday, February 3, 2004, the nominees for each award will present their artwork, followed by an awards ceremony during which the winners of the three transmediale awards and the Werkleitz Award will be announced. Nominated projects and honourable mentions are on view within transmediale.04 under one of the festival’s formats: Exhibitions, Screening, Documentation, or Performance.
