Nauman's exploratory style with linguistic and temporal play is reflected in his video projects that take as their subject repetitive acts requiring either sustained physical exeration or considerable mental concentration. He links sculptural traditions to the phenomenological aspects of avantgarde dance and related body-movement work. These works are directly related to his conceptual neon sculptures and sculptural fabrications.
