Creative Fundraising & Microfunding Initiatives Workshop by and with Peter Sunde
On the Internet you can be a content creator, consumer or both. When you create, there's not always a good way to get money for the content, and when you find a project you like, there's not always a way to show your appreciation. Current payment systems are often time consuming and make it difficult to make small payments, meaning the chances to make donations are often missed. This problem is universal, for bloggers and their readers, musicians and their listeners, filmmakers, photographer, programmers, and so on. Flattr was created to solve this problem. Flattr users pay a small flat-rate fee, creators place a Flattr button on their website. Flattr users click on the creator buttons if they like content and every month the user's fee is divided between the creators. As a creator you have a new revenue stream you never had before, as a consumer you can help creators with just a small click. Peter Sunde, founder of Flattr, is joined by the rest of the Flattr team at transmediale.11. They will present the platform, giving tips and advice to creatives who could benefit from using the system. Workshop participants will get hands on help and support with the technical intergration of Flattr in to their platforms.
