Combining Wagner's Leitmotiv technique with the vast possibilities of video, a language forms which consists in adding emotional, intuitive or intellectual connotations to elementary images which are continously combined in different ways so that a narrative structure arises. Similarily different sounds are sometimes added to the musical score (music played bei the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted bei Herbert von Karajan). The result is an opera which communicates meaning by using the specific means of video technology. Frank and Koen Theys lead a crusade against the prevailing shallowness and the splitting up of "difficult' contents into manageable “easy" pieces.
