A biography of the famous (fashion) photographer, Guy Bourdin, whose photos for magazines like Vogue could not be more atypical for the fashion world. When one sees Bourdin's countless shots, which are filled with sexual obsessions, in part surreal, in part gloomy collages of glamour, death and his own personal S/M iconography, one asks automatically why Bourdin is considered a fashion photographer. In a complex collage, innumerable photos as well as 8 mm films by Bourdin are brought together with interviews of friends, colleagues and models. We hear, amongst others, Jerry Hall and Helmut Newton, Bourdin's long-time companion at Vogue.
