‘Longlapses’ seeks to open eyes and minds to life in longer attention spans; to trace the hidden chaotic being of society and nature. To ‘immortalise’ days rather than instants, Knapek developed a spaceotemporal imaging technique where a motif is photographed regularly through, typically, a midnight-to-midnight period. The thousands of resulting images are 'fused' via self-made software, to produce images spanning - linearly - 24 hours of time.
