The surrealism of the 20th century played with perceptions and feelings, frustrated expectations and shocking images. Film is a medium exceptionally well suited to the construction of surreal realities. The digital image technologies employed today make possible forms of alienation and adaptation which - to a far greater extent than complex computer animations - point towards a new surrealism, which seeks Insecurity deep within the technical substance of the images.
