Max Almy is an internationally exhibited video artist who has experimented with video and media technologies since the early 70s. Her works have included live performance, video installations and experimental videotapes that have been exhibited in ma- jormuseumsthroughoutthe world. Hervi- deos have been broadcast and distributed extensively in projects that have ranged from artist video tapes and discs to theatrical distribution. Herworks are provocative social and political satires characterized by sophisticated use of video and audio effects. She has received numerous film and video festival awards as well as majorfunding from the NEA and the American Film Institute. Max Almy has worked professionally in the television industry since 1976. She is currentlyteaching at UCLA's Film and Television School and is working asaninde- pendentdirectorin the Los Angeles area.
