Solmaz Shahbazi was born in Tehran in 1971 and has been living in Germany since 1985. Both her documentaries show the reality and the history of Teheran and the life of young people, focusing on central questions of today's situation in Iran. Her first film "Tehran 1380" is a co-production with Tirdad Zolghadr. The filmmakers cast an ironic view on urban structures and ways of living in the wildly growing metropolis of Tehran.
