This tape was created for the 1992 DAY WITHOUT ART - AIDS AWARENESS DAY. It addresses "the relationship between the medicalization of the body and the personal". Ron Vawter reads a poem by R.M. Rilke while a doctor is heard discussing his medical condition. These two texts are juxtaposed with the imagery of medical photographs of internal organs and of the moon's surface -inner and outer space. The result is a poetic, haunting rumination on the disparity between medical interpretations and personal experiences of physicality, mortality and spirituality.
