Tapestry
Tapestry
Tapestry Is a collaborative storytelling system: It weaves a compound narrative out of the disparate fragments entered by Its Inhabitants, splicing and combining narrative steps to build a single navigable mass of story. Anyone Is free to contribute, discuss and one day take responsibility for part of the weave. The original purpose of the project was to find an effective way of gathering and presenting eyewitness testimony. How to gather firsthand material from remote and how to make that material engaging, informative and useful to both the researcher and the casual passer - by without relying on editorial expertise. The system Is used by several sites to gather and discuss evidence of human rights violations, climate change and other media-unfriendly issues. The workshop will be followed by a presentation of the Tapestry-powered website wastun.org with Florian Schneider, The Yesmen, and others, in the transmediale salon.
