Albeit being currently subjected to heavy criticism, international capitalism still remains intact for lack of alternatives. Before this background Daniela Plewe’s artistic research Transactional Arts seems to come at the right moment. Transactional Arts declare the exchange of values and the formation of social contracts works of art. Transactions are not only limited to our economic and monetary capital but purposefully incorporate social, cultural and symbolic forms of capital – incentives become aesthetic material and artists play around with all sorts of ‘creative deals’.
