transmediale_extended vol. 1 was in many ways the first "far-reaching" cooperation, which left behind the boarders of Europe. It which was planned as well as realized between Berlin and Santiago de Chile. With formats like installations, performances, screenings and screen-based works the guest program presented the wide range of artistic creation build on digital media, as it was presented at transmediale and club transmediale.

transmediale_extended vol.1 represents a section of the most important types of medial means of expressions, current issues and production methods and introduces the main focus of the curatorial and discursive work of transmediale. 

transmediale_extended vol.1 santiago - chile 2003 was a project of transmediale - international media art festival Berlin / Berliner Kulturveranstatungs-Gmbh, Goethe-Institut Santiago and the department of Visual Arts of the National Board for Art and Culture (Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes), in cooperation with the Biennial ofVideo and New Media of Santiago and the Museum of Contemporary Art, University of Chile.
