"Hard Drive" is a journey through time-or against time, to be more accurate - from North to Central America. Itinerary and timetable are scheduled by network technology: the struggles between the relentless believers in progress through technology, and the sceptics, whose extremist wing includes anti-technology terrorists such as the notorious „Una bomber". The technological war manifests itself in various forms. And, like in any war, the protagonist comes up against unexpected fronts and cunning tactics on the part of those involved - as well as rampant paranoia. Every bearded programmer is a potential assailant, ex-Communists mutate into ace programmers. In Mexico, however, the cause is taken up by Zapatist revolutionaries, who introduce guerrilla warfare into the technology war.
