Tasman Richardson
Tasman Richardson
Tasman Richardson's work focuses on entropy, tele-presence, appropriation, synesthesia and JAWA editing (a style he originated), in which musical composition and narratives are created entirely from video cut ups. His most recent exhibitions include the a/v performance Firing Squad at Elektra, Mapping Festival (Geneva), and TIFF Bell Lightbox, as well as his critically acclaimed solo installation Necropolis at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art. He is presently composing Hydra, a collaborative performance with Parisian artist Nohista in which vintage televisions are electrically manipulated as musical instruments. Hydra premieres at Elektra on May 3, 2013.
