The work of Berlin-based duo Valentina Karga and Pieterjan Grandry spans the fields of architecture, public art, performance, print, and graphic design. Market for Immaterial Value, their project for transmediale 2016, typifies their interests in sustainability, economics, the commons, and resource management by presenting their personal financial situation within a public context.
They both run individual practices as well; Valentina’s work is participative, aiming to imagine alternatives for societal structures such as economic and pedagogic institutions. Pieterjan’s Modem Studio deals mainly with print and web design.
They are both founding members of Collective Disaster, an art and architecture collective.
