Currently we are facing a huge gap between the areas of digital media technologies and art education at both the school and university levels There is only little knowledge amongst art teachers about contemporary media art works and about opportunities opening up for art education processes. The didactic concept of the media art lab was introduced in art teacher training at university. It was realised in interdisciplinary research projects such as MediaArtLab@School at the University of Flensburg.
